NPR ‘Morning Edition’ Host Teases First Donald Trump Interview in 6 Years – Includes ‘the moment He Hung Up on Me’

NPR “Morning Edition” host Steve Inskeep on Tuesday teased the program’s first interview with Donald Trump in six years of probation.

Inskeep said the interview aired on Wednesday ended when the former president “lowered” him.

On Twitter, some journalists reacted saying Trump was doing it for NPR swag, or even thought it was “commitment week” on the station.

Trump has offered little access to the media since leaving office. He recently planned to host a news conference on the anniversary of the deadly riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, but canceled it after Fox News ’Laura Ingraham asked if the event was a good idea.

“Is it wise for President Trump to hold a rally on that particular day, compared to next week or last week?” he said on the program.

In December, Trump’s prospective media company also raised an additional $ 1 billion from an undisclosed group of investors. Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) is trying to reveal to the public through SPAC (special purpose acquisition company) called Digital World Acquisition.

The prospective company does not yet have a CEO, with Trump listed as its chairman. The main part of the company is its own social media network called “Truth.”
