Donald E. Baker, 76, of Felton, passed away Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at Westminster Nursing Home in Dover.
He was born in Harbeson, the son of the late Willis P. and Marietta (Donovan) Baker.
Donald graduated from Milton High School, Class of 1964. He served 6 years in the Delaware National Guard and worked as a machine operator for Playtex for 38 years, retiring in 2005.
He enjoyed traveling around the country attending dirt track races and visiting National Parks, especially those with mountains. He enjoyed Country music and he enjoyed seeing some of his favorites in concert. Donald also loves gardening and lawn work. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.
In addition to his parents, he preceded the death of his brother Bill Baker.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Hill) Baker; a daughter, Renee (Greg) Sylvester; two siblings, David Baker and Jane Webb; and two grandchildren, Jackson and Carter Sylvester.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Monday, Jan. 17, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main St., Felton, where friends can call after 12 pm Interment will be held at Hopkins Cemetery, Harrington.
As required by the revised mandate during the pandemic, masks will be required for the health and safety of the family and of the attendees.
