Si Sen. Lindsey Graham (RS.C.) was criticized as backless on Wednesday when she said the 2024 Republican presidential nomination would be Donald Trumps if she wanted it, praised the former president as the true leader of the GOP and said she would not support the Senate Minority. leader Mitch McConnells (R-Ky.) would return as Republican leader in the Senate if McConnell hadn’t been nice to Trump.
If you want to be the Republican leader in the House or Senate, you have to have a working relationship with President Donald Trump, Graham told Fox News Sean Hannity. He is the most outspoken Republican since Ronald Reagan. He nominates it if he wants to, and I think will be re -elected in 2024.
Graham praised McConnell for working with Trump to select three Supreme Court justices and pass tax cuts. The relationship deteriorated between the couple, however, following Trump’s instigation of the deadly 2021 U.S. Capitol riot.
Watch Grahams’s comments here:
Graham: If you want to be the Republican leader in the House or Senate, you have to have a working relationship with Trump. Can Senator McConnell work effectively with Donald Trump. I will not vote for anyone who does not have a working relationship with Trump pic.twitter.com/boOjekgyTT

But here’s the question: can Sen. cooperate effectively. McConnell to the leader of the Republican Party, Donald Trump? Graham asked. I will not vote for anyone who cannot have a working relationship with President Trump, to be a team, to come up with a first American agenda, to show the difference between us and the liberal Democrats, prosecute the case for Trump’s policies.
And I won’t vote anyone for the head of the Senate as a Republican unless they can prove to me that they can promote an American first agenda and have a working relationship with President Trump, because if you can’t do that, you will fail, He added.
Critics on Twitter reminded Graham of his previous criticism of Trump and criticized him for bowing his knee to the former president:
2021: “Trump and I, we had a hell of a journey. I don’t want to end this way. Oh my God, I hate it. From my perspective, he was the fruit of the president, but now, first thing you’ll see I can only say count me out. “
2022: “His nomination if he wants.” https://t.co/ZdlHQy52gB

He is right. If you want to be a Republican you have to bow to Trump. That’s why people with any principles should have left TrumpGOP long ago. It is irredeemable. https://t.co/IiC8ajQkLR
