Obituary
Mr. Donald G. VanNorman, age 89, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born April 12, 1932, in West Point, KY, to William H. VanNorman and Mayme L. Griffee. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth. Donald retired from LG&E in 1996. He is a member of the Church of God Preparing for the Kingdom of God; and also a Kentucky Colonel. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from November of 1951 to November of 1955. Donald and his wife Beverly owned VanNorman’s Grocery in West Point, KY from 1964 to 1977.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Beverly J. (Lile) VanNorman; daughter, Kathi (Daniel) Wilson; son, David W. VanNorman; his loving cousin, Sharlee (VanNorman) McDonald; two grandchildren, Anthony (Tatyana) Wilson and Whitney Wilson; and five great -grandchildren, Alex Williams, Maia, Naomi and Isaac Wilson, and Ariana Pearson.
A private service next to the grave, with military awards, was held at Rock Haven Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Hager Funeral Home. The family politely asks not to send flowers.
