PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. -Political advertisers with Remove Ron released a “Magic Words” ad on Friday pinning former President Donald Trump against Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“What’s the matter, Donald? Did Ron say anything? Or maybe Ron hasn’t said something yet? Gossip, you’re still waiting for those magic words from Ron, but after all this time, if Ron wasn’t thinking of challenging you as President, don’t you think he told you right now? “
In an interview Thursday night on Fox News, Trump told Sean Hannity that he gets along well with DeSantis and said he thinks DeSantis has “done a very good job” as governor of Florida.
“This is completely fake news,” Trump said of their perceived competition, as they both aim for the 2024 Republican nomination.
DeSantis is campaigning for re-election in 2022. After DeSantis failed to answer a question about the COVID-19 vaccine in an interview, Trump referred to politicians as not talking about whether they were vaccinated against COVID-19 or not as unappetizing.
