Donald Trump’s former lawyer said Trump told him Donald Jr. should be jailed. than Ivanka.

Michael Cohen said his former boss gave the instruction when his children were on the brink of prosecution in 2012.

Cohen was speaking on MSNBC about investigations into the Trump Organization and the Capitol riot.

Donald Trump’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen said Trump said that if one of his children had to be incarcerated because of the family business to “make sure” it was Donald Jr., not Ivanka.

Speaking to MSNBC on Saturday, Cohen said Trump gave him the tutoring when his children were on the brink of prosecution by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office in 2012.

“You may recall that there was a district attorney case here for Trump Soho where Don or Ivanka were in massive trouble as a result of lying about the number of units sold,” Cohen told MSNBC’s Alex Witt.

“And Donald told me this – I mean I wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t told to me directly – he’s going to ‘if one or the other has to be incarcerated, make sure it’s Don because Don can.’ handle it. ‘”

Cohen spoke to MSNBC about the rising pressure on the Trump family amid investigations into the Trump Organization’s financial dealings and the Jan. 6 unrest.

New York Attorney General Letitia James said her investigation into the Trump Organization uncovered “significant evidence” of fraudulent and misleading asset valuations.

James took legal action to enforce the subpoenas issued to Donald Trump and his sons Donald Jr. and Ivanka, who he said was “closely involved in the transactions in question.”

Meanwhile, the committee on Jan. 6 investigating the insurgency asked Ivanka Trump to voluntarily cooperate with their investigation.

Cohen said he believes there is “no chance” the former president will offer to cooperate with investigations to protect his daughter from legal problems.

“Only Donald cares about Donald, more than he cares about his kids,” Cohen told MSNBC.

Trump’s former attorney also said he believes the chances of young Trumps cooperating with either probe are “slim to none.”

Michael Cohen served as Trump’s personal attorney for more than a decade before being targeted as part of a federal investigation into silent money payments made to women who claimed to have a relationship with Trump in 2000s.

In 2018, Cohen pleaded guilty to several crimes he committed while working for Trump and was sentenced to three years in federal prison.

Since then, Cohen has collaborated with prosecutors on several investigations into Donald Trump and the Trump Organization.
