June 17, 1924 – January 21, 2022

Donald Wilson Moore, 97, of Phillips School Road, New Wilmington, passed away at his residence in Jan. 21, 2022. Don was born in Neshannock Township on June 17, 1924, to the late William Rudolph Moore and Laura C. Johnston Moore. He married Eleanor Jane Pitzer on June 21, 1946, and he preceded her death on December 24, 2016. Don graduated from Wilmington High School in 1942. He retired from his business, Moore’s Nursery. He enjoyed gardening and his landscaping at home, traveling West and wintering in Florida. Survivors include two sons, Gary L. Moore of New Wilmington and Russell J Moore at home; two daughters, Gale R. Schaible of Neshannock and Patricia A. (Steve) Slagter of Gypsum, Colorado; five grandchildren, Tami Moore Weingartner, Laurie Moore Conti, LeighAnn O’Neil (Michael) Scofield, D Cody (Sage) O’Neil and Jeremy C Schaible; eight great -grandchildren, Mariah Scofield Jacobs, Corey Scofield, Colin Conti, Anna Conti, Jorge Schaible, Liliana Schaible, Taylor O’Neil and Jordyn O’Neil; and two great -grandchildren, Elene and Marleigh. Don preceded the death of a sister, Dorothea Snyder; and a brother, William Wesley Moore. There are no services at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.
