Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone vs. Joe Lauzon in the works for UFC event on April 30

[ad_1]

With over 60 combined fights within the octagon between them, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Joe Lauzon are expected to face off on the upcoming UFC Fight Night card scheduled for April 30th.

Numerous sources confirmed the MMA Fighting news on Friday with verbal agreements in place from the athletes. MMA Junkie first reported the news.

Cerrone will make his first appearance in nearly a year as he looks to prevent the toughest skid of his career after going 0-5 without a contest in his past six games. Prior to his current three-straight winning streak including submissions against Mike Perry and knockouts against Alexander Hernandez.

Now Cerrone will look to return to the winning range while facing another veteran from the lightweight division.

Lauzon last fought in October 2019 when he scored a first-round TKO on Jonathan Pearce, which put him back on track after three straight losses.

In recent years, Lauzon has focused more on training and coaching fighters than his own career but he has resisted retirement in case the right opportunity is presented to bring him back to the cage.

Cerrone appears to be the perfect bait for Lauzon in another UFC legend when they meet on April 30th.

More fights for the card will be announced by the UFC in the coming weeks along with a major event for the show.
