Donald John Foote (Don)

Don Foote passed away peacefully on January 20, 2022. Don was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Born in Seattle to Canadian parents, Don spent most of his childhood in Victoria BC Travels down the Pacific Coast eventually led him to the University of Washington, where he graduated with a degree in Architecture in 1954. He retired in his mid-sixties from Waldron , Pomeroy, Smith, Foote, and Akira, AIA, having enjoyed a successful and meaningful career. Don met the love of his life, Gael Burns, and married her in 1956. They joyfully celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with family in December. Don and Gael loved traveling around the PNW and Vancouver Island in their retirement. An avid fly-fisherman, squash player, and health enthusiast, Don remained active for many years. Don was also a skilled pool player and played with family into his nineties. Don will be remembered by those who knew him as a fun, thoughtful and caring friend. Don is survived by his wife, Gael, his daughter, Dana Bogel, and her partner, Wayne Bowen, grandsons, Kevin and Brendan, and loving nieces and nephews.
