Donald Vincent Clark, 90, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Heritage Springs Memory Care, Montoursville where he has been a resident for the past 19 months. Prior to that, Don lived in Cedar Heights, Mill Hall.

Don was born on June 15, 1931 in Castanea to the late John and Florine Smith Clark.

He graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1949. Don was proud to enlist in the United States Army on October 5, 1953 and was honorably discharged as Sergeant on October 4, 1959. While in service he honed his skills. to music by playing pedal steel guitar and providing entertainment while serving his country.

On July 18, 1952, he married Pearl Beatrice Streck in the parsonage of East Main Street Methodist Church, Lock Haven. They shared many adventures during their 64 -year marriage until Bea passed away in 2016. Together they loved to travel, camp and escape to their winter home in Haines City, Florida.

Don used the GI Bill to continue his education and graduated from Lock Haven University in 1960. He then received his Master’s degree from Penn State University. He taught history, geography and earth science at Bald Eagle Nittany High School where he also served as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director until his retirement in 1992.

During his time in college, he worked for Western Union in Lock Haven.

Don continued to play and entertain others with his expert steel guitar playing. He is proud to share his talent and has served as a backup to many groups over the years including the Bob and Dean McNett Band. He continued to play well until his 80s. Don is also an avid artist in the style of Bob Ross and he enjoys showing others his art gallery in his home.

Don is from the Methodist faith.

He preceded the death of his parents; his sisters, Violet Frederick and Francis “Sis” Waltz; His wife; and a beloved nephew, James Frederick.

He is survived by his brothers -in -law and sisters -in -law Jack and Eva Orndorf and many nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Nippenose Valley Village and Heritage Springs Memory Care for the kind and compassionate care given to Don while living in their facilities. We can’t thank you enough!

Due to Don’s preferences and concerns with COVID, there were no services. A private funeral will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall under the direction of Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
