“He’s a great guy,” he said. Sahota, 52, erred in the shooting and was killed while off duty at his home near the Battle Ground of Clark County sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Feller during a search for a burglary suspect Saturday night.
The police cruiser will be parked outside the headquarters until Monday for the public to decorate with flowers, cards and other items to commemorate Sahota.
Cards or letters to Sahota’s family or the department can also be mailed to 605 E. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver, WA 98661. The memorial vehicle will be moved to the funeral service site Tuesday, outside the ilani casino.
A local “Honor Mile” was held Friday night on the track at Hudson’s Bay High School to honor Sahota.
