Donnie Bruce Koch, 44, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully from a lengthy illness on Feb. 28, 2022.
Donnie was born on June 19, 1977, to Barbara (Ellis) Koch in Orlando, Fla. He graduated from Washington High School in 1995. He continued his education at Kirkwood.
Donnie always had a passion for martial arts and creative writing, He was a published author with titles, “Kerouac Cadillac and” In Stillness and the Dead Romantics “under the name Gravelle Greene. He had a special love for his dogs and was a talented musician.
Donnie is survived by his mother, Barbara; his brothers, Shawn (Jen) Koch and Michael (Valerie) Koch; three nieces, Hailey, Payzlie and Evoleht; and two nephews, Kaedan and Sawyer.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Beulah Kasner; and his grandfather, Richard Ellis Sr.
He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
A special thank-you to St. Luke’s Hospice and all the caretakers who helped Donnie throughout his illness.
