Piers Morgan has revealed new details of what transpired during his interview with Donald Trump that apparently caused the former president to storm out.

“When we got around to the election results and to Jan 6, I just looked him straight in the eye and said I want to be clear with you, I don’t agree that you had this election stolen or that it was rigged,” Morgan told Fox News on Sunday.

“And at that point, the fuse kind of went with him and he started insulting me. He called me a fool seven times. ”

Morgan had then said that there was no hard evidence to point to the elections being rigged.

“He couldn’t accept that,” he said. “He has a kind of blind, pathological belief that it was taken from him.”

As Republicans hope to regain a majority in the Senate and the House in the November mid-term elections, they are looking to make the president’s son’s business dealings a key target.

Republican lawmakers and staff are looking to analyze specific messages and financial transactions found on Hunter Biden’s laptop.

They have also discussed issuing congressional subpoenas to foreign entities involved in paying Hunter Biden, people who are familiar with the matter told the Associated Press.

While the discussions are in the early stages, there have been talks of bringing on Republican lawyers and former Justice Department officials to help lead the investigations.

Meanwhile the White House is preparing to make a case of opportunism against the Republicans while denying any wrongdoing by the president.

Hunter Biden’s taxes and foreign businesses are already under federal investigation, with a grand jury in Delaware hearing testimony in recent months.

Two Donald Trump-endorsed candidates in Michigan-Kristina Karamo for secretary of state and Matt DePerno for attorney general-were endorsed by the state’s Republicans in two of the most closely watched political races of the weekend.

Mr DePerno, a lawyer, had previously filed a suit seeking to audit the 2020 election results in Antrim County which was dismissed by a Michigan court on Thursday.

Ms Karamo has said that she personally witnessed election fraud in 2020 and was also part of the Supreme Court lawsuit seeking to overturn the 2020 result that was eventually rejected.

“Michigan is one of the worst on Election Fraud and corruption, and they will put an end to it. At the same time, they’ll get to the bottom of the 2020 Election Fraud, ”Mr Trump said in a statement.

Trump has endorsed 10 candidates for seats in the state legislature, reported ABC.

“Our country’s going to hell,” Trump said. “He’s shaking hands with the air. He’s walking around somewhat bewildered – I’d say it’s no good – and taking orders from the Easter Bunny. ”

The former president’s comments were in reference to a viral moment last week in which a person in an Easter Bunny costume was seen apparently directing Mr Biden as he greeted supporters.

1650862897Trump’s decisions based on emotions, former New Jersey governor says

Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie has said that Donald Trump’s decisions to endorse GOP candidates are not based on “political analysis” but on emotions.

In an interview on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday, Mr Christie said: “The idea that he makes these decisions based upon political analysis is sophistry.

“This is all emotional decisions and who speaks to him last.”

He also said that the former president’s endorsements had “landed all over the place”.

He was referring to his endorsement of JD Vance and controversial TV personality Dr Mehmet Oz.

Both endorsements have received backlash from Republicans.

“I do think, though, when we get to June, we’re going to look back and say that most of the big endorsements he made-not the ones in deep-red House districts but in the big endorsements he made-are going to turn out to not have been right, ”Mr Christie said.
