Going into joint practices between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams, there was some concern from both parties about potential fights after seeing so many break outs at other joint practices around the NFL.
There wasn’t any of that in a tackle-free session between the teams on Wednesday in what was about as polite as it gets for these.
But there was one notable, quick hiccup Aaron Donald put a hand on Joe Burrow.
Burrow, who was looking forward to treating these reps as game reps while he tries to regain weight after surgery, was not allowed to take a sack. Instead, per Fox 19s Jeremy Rauch, Burrows offensive line took a brief exception to Donald even putting a hand on Burrow to record the sack:
That offensive line featured rookie Cordell Volson repping with the ones. Otherwise, the new big three Lael Collins, Ted Karras and Alex Cappa were out there protecting Burrow alongside Jonah Williams.
If thats as dramatic as things get over the two practice sessions and Week 3 preseason game between these teams, both should consider it a big win.
