Mr. Donald Joe “Donnie” Rowlett, age 64, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on November 10, 1957 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Joseph B. Rowlett and Betty Joan Newman Rowlett Rogers. He was a 1976 graduate of Southwestern High School and a resident of Jefferson County, Indiana most of his life. On March 30, 1977 he was united in marriage to Teresa Aldridge in Jellico, Tennessee. This marriage was blessed with a son, Wayne. On August 16, 1977, Donnie was inducted into the US Army. He was honorably discharged in August, 1980 at the rate of E-4 Specialist. Donnie was united in marriage on June 15, 1984 to Kim Sarver and this union of 15 years was blessed to raise Dustin, Derik and Jennifer. For four years he owned and operated Donnie’s Body Shop. He was an over the road truck driver for 30 years, driving over three million miles. Donnie was a very talented and well known guitarist all his life opening shows for artists like George Jones and Johnny Paycheck. He was baptized at St. John’s United Church of Christ. He was a member of Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion. Donnie enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, watching NASCAR especially driver, Dale Earnhardt, and most of all playing his guitar. Donnie died on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 5:30 am at his residence in Madison, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY Donald will be missed by his sons, Donald Wayne Rowlett and his wife, Sarah of Madison, Indiana, Derik Sarver and his wife, Teri of Madison, Indiana and Dustin Sarver of Madison, Indiana; his daughter, Jennifer Sarver Webster and her husband, Andy of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren, Olivia, Kalyn, Isabelle, Christopher, Nicholas, Andrew, Karson, Kaydi, Kayleigh, Austin, Emma and Breanna; his great grandchildren, Addie, Avery, Ariel, Lilly, Maddie and Jersey; his companion of 13 years, Nancy Bibbs and her family of Madison, Indiana; his sisters, Peggy Robbins of Madison, Indiana, Marilyn Giltner and her husband, Steve of New Washington, Indiana; his brother, Matthew Rowlett of Hanover, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph B. Rowlett, died January 9, 2016, his mother, Betty Joan Rogers Rowlett Rogers, died March 7, 2011, his step father, Dick Rogers, died April 28, 1988 and his sister , Beverly Ann vest Leach Hackney Lewis, died May 20, 2016.
PRIVATE FUNERAL CEREMONY Private family services will be conducted Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 1:00 pm, by Chaplain Mike Bath at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. Madison, Indiana.
MILITARY HONORSA final salute with military honors will be provided by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
