Outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) sat down with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.) at a restaurant for a joint interview with CNNs Jamie Gangel.
And when Gangel asked what a second Trump presidency would mean, Pelosi said: I don’t think we should be talking about him over dinner.
Schumer laughed.
Really? Another Trump presidency? Pelosi continued, before suggesting there was a need for an intervention there by her family or someone.
I don’t think he’s on the level, no, she added.
Elsewhere in the interview, Schumer talked about how Pelosi has interacted with Trump during his presidency.
I tell people that Nancy instinctively knows how to deal with Trump, because in the first, you know, 35, 40 years of life, she raised five children, and she knows how to deal with children. And that’s what helped him deal with Trump, because in the end he was young, he said.
Both Pelosi and Schumer have said they will support President Joe Biden’s run for the White House again in 2024.
I think President Biden has done a great job as president of the United States, Pelosi said. I hope he will seek re-election. He has been a great president.
Look what he’s done, Schumer added. He has done an excellent, excellent job and if he runs, I’m gonna support him all the way.
