Donald Trump was slammed for another round of threats and incitement on Saturday after inciting years of upheaval on January 6 and then telling his followers it was time for the FBI thugs and Justice Department to deal with.
Critics considered the threatening messages a clear dog whistle to his followers, many of whom were armed. About 62% of gun owners voted for Trump in the 2016 election. And his Oath Keeper supporters had a massive stockpile of weapons stashed in the Washington, DC, area on January 6 to back Trump up should he try to seize control of the government and stay in power, according to trial evidence .
Trump baselessly asserted in a Truth Social post that the FBI was fully involved in a coordinated effort to alter the election results to make him lose. That was justified in previous years’ violent protests on Jan. 6 at the US Capitol, he asserted, even though nearly 1,000 rioters were indicted for crimes related to that day’s insurrection.
Now, Trump is urging his followers on Truth Social to stand up to the armed thugs and tyrants at the FBI and DOJ.
Trump supporters at Truth Social responded by blasting the FBI as gestapo and members of organized crime, which could put the agents’ lives in danger among Trump’s acolytes.
Conde Nast legal affairs editor Luke Zaleski called the exact speech he gave on January 6 a brutal message from Trump.
He continues the rhetoric that incites violence against the United States and his thugs know what to do, Zaleski tweeted.
Trump was president at the time he was complaining about what happened. His DOJ. His FBI. His crimes. This is the exact speech he gave on January 6th. He continues the rhetoric that incites violence against the United States and his thugs know what to do pic.twitter.com/M1qpGC0PIa

The group Republicans against Trumpism urged readers in a tweet to think of the angry response former President Barack Obama called on his followers to take action against the DOJ and FBI.
Critics believe Trump’s vicious attacks show how fearful the former president is about the imminent prospect of criminal charges against him. The House committee January 6 is considering making at least three criminal referrals against Trump to the Justice Department, including inciting insurrection, obstruction and conspiracy to defraud the United States government.
“These weaponized Thugs and Tyrants must be dealt with…” Do you realize what is happening here? Trump is telling his unhinged gun-crazy supporters that they should attack the FBI, DOJ and “Intelligence.” When it comes from a former POTUS, WHY isn’t it considered insurrection? https://t.co/LS0cVkLlKl
