Jamie Raskin’s Agatha Christie Takedown of Donald Trump Is a Killer

The January 6 House committee, of which Raskin is a member, released its final report on Thursday, concluding that Trump is responsible for the 2021 coup attempt after he lost the 2020 election. He lied to his stomach that he was cheated out of the presidency, and those lies continued Friday along with a denial that an insurrection had occurred.

I think there needs to be a serious reckoning of individual responsibility for the people who set all these events in motion, Raskin said in a post-mortem interview with The 11th Hour host Stephanie Ruhle. Does anyone in the country believe that any of this would have happened without Donald Trumps?

Raskin, who made Agatha Christie-like comments about Trump over his alleged pressure on Ukraine to dig up dirt on Joe Bidens family in exchange for military aid, showed hints at Trump’s culpability in besieging the Capitol on Friday. He said Trump got the extremists to change the planned protests from January 21 to January 6, the day of the election certification. He also noted that Trump tried to manipulate state election officials to make votes in his favor and overturn the results. And his incendiary declaration during the riot that Vice President Mike Pence did not have the courage to interfere with the certification made the situation worse, the lawmaker said.

So, it’s just impossible to imagine any of this happening without Donald Trump being the main instigator of the whole thing, Raskin said. And if anyone’s got a theory as to why antifa actually did this, bring forward the evidence. But our bipartisan committee found no evidence of antifa involvement.
