Trump slams report Ivanka and Jared Kushner shunned him while cooking at Mar-a-Lago

Donald Trump continued his prolific posting on his Truth Social account on Monday after spending the Christmas holidays bashing his enemies and complaining that, without him in the Oval Office, the US would go to hell.

After attacking Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and his wife on Monday, the former president spoke on a deep dive into his Mar-a-Lago life over the past 30 days, since he announced that he will run for president for a third term, wrote Olivia Nuzzi of New York Magazine after interviewing him at his beloved Florida resort.

In his interview with Nuzzi, Trump rejected the idea that, contrary to what his close aides say, he is almost a shut-in, the journalist wrote, “Trump’s campaign schedule, described to me as ‘busy, ‘ included 11 events. over the course of the month. One event was the announcement itself. Five events took place at Mar-a-Lago. Four events were not events at all but taped videos aired. at events where Trump is not physically present.”

Responding to that Truth Social on Monday Trump wrote, “It’s funny to read and hear Fake News political pundits say that “Trump is not working very hard on his campaign. This is not a good sign, he might give up (even though I’m leading BIG in the Polls!). What they don’t say is, ‘WE HAVE BEEN ALMOST TWO YEARS ALREADY.’ Rallies are going to be bigger and better than ever (because our Country is going to Hell), but it’s a little early, isn’t it?”

In his New York Magazine piece, Nuzzi also noted that the former president became “defensive” when asked about reports that his daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner refused to lend him aid after his dinner with antisemite Kanye West and white nationalist Nick Fuentes became a firestorm that has Republicans heading for the hills, and that they continue to distance themselves from the 2020 election defeat.
