Trump attacks New York Magazine reporter after he reveals his own 2024 adviser thinks the magic is gone

Donald Trump attacked a New York Magazine reporter as a wack job after he revealed that a member of his own 2024 campaign believes the magic is gone for the former president.

Throughout the Christmas season, the one-term president has delivered a series of tirade on his Truth Social platform, raging about everything from a Jan. 6 House committee report to the US’s southern border and the Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

In a rambling post late on December 26, Mr Trump rebuked journalist Olivia Nuzzi over an investigative feature she wrote for New York Magazine.

The article paints a picture of Mr Trump facing calls for criminal charges over the disturbance at the Capitol living near Mar-a-Lago and portrays his 2024 campaign as a sad, sad, thirsty, broken, usually pretend to run for re-election.

A current adviser to Ms Nuzzi said even members of Mr Trump’s inner circle had become doubtful about his third run at the White House as members of his own party increasingly turned against the former president.

The adviser, who has not been named but works on Mr Trump’s current campaign, described Mr Trump’s appeal as lost and admitted you can’t get it back.

Nothing there. In this business, you can get it and have it overheat and it can be overnight and gone and you can’t get it back, they say.

I think I just saw it gone. The magic is gone.

On Monday, Ms Nuzzi told CNN the advisers’ comments showed Mr Trumps mojo was gone.

That’s an adviser talking to me saying that the magic is gone and this guy’s not sure Trump can bring it back, he said.

That’s kind of the hard thing about a campaign that’s really about a personality. Even if it’s run in a really common sense way, does it really matter if the personality built around it isn’t really on his game?

Mr Trump was clearly shocked by the revelations in the report as he launched an angry tirade on his social media platforms on Monday evening.

In the unhinged rant, he made several personal attacks on the journalist whom he labeled shaky, unattractive and dumb as a rock.

The former president also said the sources did not exist and labeled New York Magazine as being on its last side while also using his usual response to any unfavorable media that the report is fake.

Fake & Corrupt News is only getting worse! As an example, I agreed to do a short interview on the phone for once very good, but now on his last legs and failed, New York Magazine, he fumed.

The reporter is a shaky and unattractive job, known to be tough but dumb as a rock, who actually wrote a decent story about me a long time ago.

Her name is Olivia Nuzzi. Anyway, the story is Fake News, his anonymous sources are non-existent (true of many writers), and I’m happy to fight hard for our GOOD USA!

In a follow-up post, he called himself America’s favorite President and the chaos at the Capitol that resulted in at least five deaths a PROTEST.

Earlier, Mr Trump lashed out at Mr McConnell, noting that Democrats should have a big deal on him because the Republican refused to block a government funding bill.

This comes after the former president celebrated the holiday by spreading anger on his platform on Christmas Day.

In a series of posts, he raged that the US was dying from within while unsurprisingly pointing the blame at his political rivals.

We have the most SECURE Border in our history, compared to that horror show [sic] is happening now, with record-setting numbers of people, many of them hardened Criminals (including Killers, Human Traffickers and Drug Dealers), POURING INTO OUR COUNTRY at a rate we’ve never seen before. The USA is dying from within!!!

He added: NOW, AS EVER, WE ARE A NATION THAT IS DOWN, A NATION THAT IS FAILING!

Three days before Christmas, the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot released its full report, concluding that Mr. Trump should not be allowed to run again and recommending that the Justice Department file an four criminal cases against him.

Mr Trumps tax returns are also due to be released any moment after he lost a legal bid to keep them secret.
