Donald H. Belanger, 85, of Ocala, passed away at home on Thursday, December 22, 2022.

He is survived by his son DonaldH. Belanger Jr. and grandson, Michael Belanger of Plantation, FL; daughter, LauraNaumann and herhusbandTerry of Leesburg, FL;granddaughter,TerynProland her husband, Ken and great-granddaughter,Piper MarieProl of Alexandria, VA. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia, and brothers Michael and Gary. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, and brothers Delbert, Robert and Ronald.

Don was born in Caribou, Maine on January 13, 1937, the son of Albert and Laura (Banville) Belanger and was raised by Gerald and Azilda (Banville) Belanger who also predeceased him. He used to live in Central Islip, NY. Don and his wife moved to Florida 52 years ago living in Hollywood and Plantation, FL. After retirement, they moved to Ocala, FL in 2005.

Don retired as an electrician where he was a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards/games, traveling and traveling often, and woodworking. Don was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks where he previously served as a Trustee at the Hollywood West Lodge.

We are blessed to have such a wonderful man in our lives and will miss him dearly.

Don was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. We will always love him and never forget him.

Visitation for Don will be held Friday, December 30, 2022, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services Chapel (910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470) beginning at 10 am with family and friends. A Catholic Service will begin at 11am at the same location followed by interment at Highland Memorial Park (1515 NE 3rd St, Ocala, FL 34470) at noon.
