Donald Trump says Ron DeSantis dropped out of the Governor’s race without his endorsement

Former President Donald Trump continues to prepare for a Primary battle with Ron DeSantis, should the Florida Governor run for President as some expect next year, and spill more tea on Monday

Trump told Real America’s Voice News program “Water Cooler” that he would “hold” DeSantis if he ran against him, saying that if he had not endorsed DeSantis in 2018, DeSantis would have withdrawn from the race against Adam Putnam .

“Ron called me and he wanted support. He is at 3%. As you probably know, the Commissioner of Agriculture, his name is Adam Putnam. Adam Putnam is close to 40%. Adam Putnam had $25 million, Ron had none. And Ron is leaving the race. He asked me if I would endorse him. And I endorsed him,” Trump said.

“Ron, instead of dropping out of the race, he went to the top of the race,” Trump added. “But I think he went up to 71 … from 3 to 71. In one night.”

Trump even said he got DeSantis over Democrat Andrew Gillum, whom Trump called a “crackhead.”

“Gillum is going to beat Ron,” Trump said, noting that he has three “packed” rallies for DeSantis.

I elected him, pure and simple. And there’s no reason to be wild about endorsing him,” Trump told interviewer David Brody. “So, now I’m hearing that he might want to run against me. So, handle it well the way I handle it in things.

“He’s at 3. He was ready to drop out of the race. It’s all over,” Trump continued. “Adam Putnam has that nomination locked up. Finished.”

We contacted the Executive Office of the Governor for its version of events.

Trump’s comments continued a theme established in November, as the former President panned the Governor as “Ron DeSanctimonious” and a typical Republican Governor promoted by Fox News and related properties.

NewsCorp, Fox, the Wall Street Journal, and the no-longer-great New York Post (bring Col back!), are for Governor Ron DeSanctimonious, an average REPUBLICAN Governor with great Public Relations,” Trump said .

Trump also told a version of Putnam’s story then, calling DeSantis “in desperate shape” and “politically dead, lost in a landslide.”

That’s an ongoing series of Trumpian blasts by the Governor, like onTruth Social.

Now that the Florida Election is over, and everything went well, shouldn’t it be said that in 2020, I got 1.1 Million more votes in Florida than Ron D got this year, 5.7 Million to 4.6 Million? Just asking?

Trump mocked DeSantis in NewsNationandFox Newsin reports that ran Election Day. He recycled his claim that he brought DeSantis to the Governors Mansion in 2018 and threatened to release secrets about the Governor should DeSantis run in 2024.

He will not be able to be a factor in the race. And the moment I endorse him, for a moment, the race is over, Trump said. I got the nomination from him. He didn’t get it. I got it, because the minute I made that endorsement, he got it.

Then he ran, and he shouldn’t have won, Trump said. I did two rallies, we each had 52,000 and he won. I thought he could be nicer. But that’s up to him.

I will tell you things about him that are not very flattering. I know more about him than anyone except, maybe, his wife, Trump added, according to Fox News.
