Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor Says Rams’ Aaron Donald Is Not in His All-Time Top 5 | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors

Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor respects the career of Los Angeles Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald, but believes they are not on the same level.

While speaking on the I Am Athlete podcast, Taylor said Donald is “absolutely” in the conversation for greatest defensive player of all time, but when asked to list his top five, he left out the 31-year-old in the list. Taylor named himself, Reggie White, Deacon Jones, Deion Sanders and Ronnie Lott.

The 64-year-old also appeared upset at the idea that Donald would go down as the greatest defensive player of all time rather than himself:

“Before you do your show, you have to be in your daggone locker room and study and learn the story of the person you’re going to interview. Listen, because I do everything. OK? I do everything. No. I coach too! Yes , I do everything!”

Like Taylor, Donald is a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He has already put together a Hall of Fame-worthy career, and will look to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2022 season when he takes the field in 2023.
