Rep. warned. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) MAGA-diehards are planning to protest against Donald Trump’s possible impeachment after the former president repeatedly called on his supporters to take to the streets.
In a rare move, MAGA-loving congressmen have called for the Trumps to disassociate themselves from protests across the country, worried that such events could be hijacked and turn violent.
There are a lot of concerns about the protests because of people like Ray Epps and Scaffold Commander, Greene told The Daily Beast on Sunday afternoon, expressing concern about a repeat of a January 6 in which the Georgia congresswoman remains steadfast was infiltrated by federal agents. There are many reasons to believe that the fed or fed assets fueled the chaos at the Capitol on January 6th.
At the same time, Greene told The Daily Beast that he believes Trump supporters have the right to peacefully protest while clarifying his objection to Trump’s protest lies with federal agents. [who] infiltrate political movements and attempt to incite political violence.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy also called for Americans to stop protesting, telling reporters during the House Republicans’ retreat on Sunday, I don’t think people should protest this, no.
However, he was quick to defend the former president, adding immediately, And I think President Trump, if you talk to him, he doesn’t believe that either.
Earlier, following multiple posts on Saturday’s Trump Truth Social, Greene called on his supporters to refrain from protesting.
We don’t need to protest about Communist Democrats planning to arrest President Trump and our government’s political arming and election interference, Greene tweeted, following Trump’s request for protests to happen in his name.
Since then, Greene has expressed a growing sentiment that has begun to gain traction on the political right, revolving around the theory that protests of Trump’s impeachment may be infiltrated by actors in bad faith.
This could be a massive, nationwide setup to get more Patriots in prison, a pro-Trump user said on The Donald forum on Saturday. Similarly, right-wing pundit Jesse Kelly wrote on Twitter: The last time Trump’s biggest fans protested for him, he left them all to rot in jail without a dime from him in legal fees paid.
Additionally, on Sunday, the congressmen doubled down on the idea that protesting on Trumps behalf is not in his supporters best interest.
How many Feds/Fed assets are in place to turn the protest against the political arrest of Pres Trump into violence? he asked on Twitter.
The Georgia congresswoman later referred to possible charges behind Trump’s possible indictment that reportedly revolved around allegedly paying pornstar Stormy Danielsas silly fake charges.
So far, only a handful of pro-Trump protests are on the books, including one promoted by failed Republican congressional hopeful Mike Crispi and another led by The New York Young Republican’s chapter, set to take place in the lower Manhattan.
Earlier this year, The Daily Beast reported that Greene was on the shortlist of potential vice presidential Trump picks for 2024.
He’s been characterized as Trump’s heel, a Trumpworld source previously told The Daily Beast, adding that Greene and Trump talk all the time.
Despite being wary of protests, Greene hopes Trump supporters will be seen somewhere in large numbers: The former president’s upcoming rally.
“Where I think everyone should show up is in Waco, Texas, on Saturday,” he told The Daily Beast. President Trump is holding a huge rally for Save America. We need to send a loud and clear message: Donald Trump is OUR PRESIDENT!
