PHOTOS, VIDEO: Donald’s Duck Pond Opens in Mickey’s Toontown With New Games and Effects

Donald’s boat is reopened as Donald’s Duck Pond in the reimagined Mickey’s Toontown. The boat and lake have new interactive elements and effects featuring Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby from “DuckTales.”

Only half of the play area is actually open today. The side of the pond remains closed due to a water issue.

There will be fountains as part of the splash pad to play on this side.

The rules are posted at the entrance. No food, drinks, or glasses are allowed in the water play areas. Children should not use bodies of water without adult supervision, and diaper-age children should wear swim diapers.

Each porthole in the boat’s hull has a different activity.

When you play that porthole game, it will trigger window effects.

This is where the nieces and Webby appear.

The effect works thanks to a window filled with water and a dry landscape behind it, making it look like the characters are swimming in the “flooded” lower deck of the boat.

Bubbles and some of Scrooge McDuck’s gold coins floated through the windows.

The characters are full figures.

The games are simple, requiring no more effort than spinning wheels and pulling levers.

Can you spot the hidden Mickey in this porthole effect?

Children can also play on the revolving flower-shaped chair in the spongey pond ground. This part also connects to Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard.
