Response to Donald Trump’s indictment: See his Truth Social meltdown

The 45th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, has officially been “NOMINATED.”

Well, at least that’s what he said in a rant on his social media platform, Truth Social.

What Trump really meant was that he was “impeached.”

On Thursday, March 30, 2023 a New York grand jury voted to indict(Opens in a new tab) the former president. Charges have not been opened at this time. Trump is under investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office for his alleged involvement in a “hush money payment scheme” involving adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaigns.

Trump has been muttering about a potential indictment at Truth Social for weeks after rumors swirled about an investigation into the alleged scheme and subsequent cover-up. That’s why, when the news of the accusation came, the former president delivered a few more posts.

“This is Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history,” Trump said in his first Truth Social post last night, in an attached screenshot(Opens in a new tab) of his usual press release statement.

Trump spoke of opening his first presidential campaign when he “came down the golden escalator at Trump Tower.” He attacks Manhattan DA Bragg and predicts that the “Witch-Hunt” will return Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election.

He then followed up the press release with a more classic Donald Trump-esque social media post in which he misspelled the word “indicted.”

“Thugs and Radical Left Monsters have indicated that this is the 45th President of the United States of America…” Trump posted(Opens in a new tab). “THIS IS AN ATTACK ON OUR COUNTRY THE LIKES OF WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE.”

“How sad!” he continued.

News of his indictment comes a day after Trump predicted in a Truth Social post that he would not be indicted.

“I HAVE SUCH RESPECT FOR THIS GRAND JURY, AND MAYBE EVEN THE GRAND JURY SYSTEM AS A WHOLE,” he posted(Opens in a new tab) on March 29. “THE EVIDENCE IS SOOVERWHELMING IN MY FAVOR, & SO RIDICULOUSLY BAD FOR THE HIGHLY PARTISAN & HATEFUL DISTRICT ATTORNEY, THAT THE GRAND JURY SAYS, HOLD ON, WE ARE NOT A RUBBER STAMP, THAT MOST GRAND JURIES ARE STAMPED AS, WE WILL NOT VOTE AGAINST A PREPONDERANCE OF EVID NUMBERS. AMONG LEGAL THAT ALL SCHOLARS SAID THERE IS NO CASE HERE. DROP THIS SICK WITCH HUNT, NOW!”

This is Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history.
