Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News Tucker Carlson that New York court staff were crying when he was arrested and charged with hush money.
They are incredible. When I went to the courthouse which is also a prison, they made me sign and I will tell you people were crying, he said.
People who work there. Professionals work there who have no problem placing killers and they see everything. It was a tough, tough place and they were crying. They are really crying. They said Im sorry.
Earlier on Tuesday, news broke that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg had filed a lawsuit seeking to prevent Jim Jordan, the Trump-aligned chair of the House Judiciary Committee, from interfering in his investigations into former presidents to silence those payment of money.
Alvin Bragg accused Mr Jordan of waging a clear campaign to intimidate and attack him.
Separately, the former president is again the subject of discussion on Capitol Hill because members of the Gang of Eight, the top lawmakers with access to intelligence briefings, were given access by the Biden administration to documents seized from the home of Mr. Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
