Donald Trump says Ron DeSantis is being ‘completely destroyed’ by Disney

Ron DeSantis’ chief political nemesis is criticizing the Governor, accusing DeSantis of mishandling his ongoing feud with The Walt Disney Co.

In a post on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump blasted the Florida Governor for hypocrisy in his continued response to the entertainment giant daring to oppose the Parental Rights in Education law last year.

“DeSanctus is being completely destroyed by Disney. His original PR plan failed, so now he’s coming back with a new one to save face,” Trump opined.

The former President was responding to the Governor’s moves Monday in a rare in-state press conference, where DeSantis teased new legislation to wrest control back from Disney and add more oversight to Disney’s monorails World and theme park rides.

DeSantis accused Disney of orchestrating a special deal and circumventing the state when the company and its old governing board with members chosen by Disney approved long-term land settlement deals with the weeks before the state took control of the board. Disney executives previously said the old board did nothing wrong and approved the deals in the open during a public meeting.

Trump also suggested that DeSantis could push Disney toward capital disinvestment or even out of state entirely.

“Disney’s next step is the announcement that there is no more money to invest in Florida because of the Governor In fact, they may even announce a slow withdrawal or sale of some properties, or the whole thing. Watch! That would be a killer,” Trump argued. “Meanwhile, this is all unnecessary, a political STUNT! Ron should work at the squatter MESS!”

DeSantis’ issues with Disney began last year when the company spoke out against the Parental Rights in Education proposal, which critics called the Dont Say Gay law. He even suggested Monday that the state could plan compelling uses for property near the theme park, including a prison.

People are like, well, What are we supposed to do with this land? Maybe build a state park? Maybe try building more amusement parks, DeSantis said, before adding the prison quip. Someone even said, Maybe you need another state prison? Who knows? I just think the possibilities are endless, and so that will now be reviewed to see what would be most important.
