Donald Trump Posts Attack On Woman Accused Of Rape In Email To Journalists

In an email to reporters, former President Donald Trump posted an attack on E. Jean Carroll who questioned the rape allegations for which she is now on trial.

The trial began this week in a defamation lawsuit filed by Carroll in 2019 after Trump accused her of lying about her rape. Carroll himself took the stand Wednesday, and began with a strong statement: I’m here because Donald Trump raped me and when I wrote this, he said it didn’t happen, he lied. He ruined my reputation, and Im here to try to get my life back.

The following day, he faced cross-examination by attorney Joe Tacopina, who CNN Senior Legal Affairs Correspondent Paula Reid said would face a real challenge walking the line while crossing.

On Friday, the Trump campaign sent an email to the media with the subject line “ICYMI: ‘Trump Rape Accuser admitted to Sexually Harassing Roger Ailes Told Him He Was Her ‘Future Husband”‘ and simply said “Read the full article by Jim Hoft with the Gateway Pundit here.”

The site is a prominent proponent of far-right conspiracy theories, one of which resulted in a blockbuster lawsuit by Georgia election workers Wandrea Moss and her mother, Ruby Freeman.

Hoft’s article contains a kitchen sink full of oppo and attacks against Carroll. “He was like a complete nut,” Hoft wrote.

Trump’s attack came after days of strong testimony by Carroll. On Thursday’s edition of CNN News Central, Kara Scannell read the chilling details of the back-and-forth between Carroll and Tacopina:

There was just a pretty intense exchange between Trump’s lawyer Joe Tacopina and E. Jean Carroll — who is now in her second hour of testimony. Tacopina focused on Bergdorf Goodman, where this alleged attack took place. Having E. Jean Carroll go through the attack again and questioning every step of the way.

One area he really focused on, she asked him why he didn’t scream for help when he was being attacked. I’ll read you a little back and forth between them.

At one point, Tacopina said — she was there why not — why she didn’t scream. If he was really being attacked, wouldn’t he scream.

And he said: You cannot defeat me by not shouting.

He said: I am not beating you. I am asking Ms. Carroll.

They then proceeded to go back and forth on whether he should scream or should scream.

And he said: I tell you that he raped me whether I screamed or not.

At that point his voice cracked. He also said, you know, the reason a lot of women don’t come forward is because they get criticized for not shouting.

Now it continues where he then asks her, so you didn’t scream while you were being brutally raped because you didn’t want to make a scene?

And Carroll said: That’s right. Maybe that’s why I didn’t scream.

He then proceeds to press her about the struggle inside the dressing room.

He said — he pointed out to her, you’ve been wearing 4-inch heels the whole struggle.

And she said: I can dance backwards and forwards in 4-inch heels.

He pointed to her tights. She said she was wearing tights that Trump pulled down before raping her. And he pointed out to her that she said her tights were not torn.

And Carroll said, no, they didn’t rip. He said they were flexible tights.

And he also asked her about a purse. And he said he had a purse in his hand during the attack, which he estimated lasted about three minutes. And he told her you didn’t drop your purse, you didn’t drop your purse.
