He arrived in Aberdeen on Monday morning after telling Truth Social – the social media platform he owns – that he would be opening a “fantastic” second course at the controversial Menie Estate in the north-east of the country.
He told reporters waiting on the tarmac, Its great to be home, referencing the fact Scotland was the home of his mother. He put his fist in the air and then got into a car parked at the bottom of the plane’s stairs.
After his time in Scotland, he will go on his course at Doonbeg on the west coast of Ireland.
Despite the visit, Mr Trump, who is running for the White House again in 2024 and is seen by many as the presumptive Republican nominee, said his campaign was “on my mind”, stressing that a victory for him will make it “greater than America” before”.

“It’s very exciting despite the fact that ‘make America great again’ in my mind, in fact, America is going to be greater than ever.”
The tycoon’s trip to Scotland comes as he faces legal trouble in his native New York over his business practices.
He pleaded not guilty to charges of falsifying business records to hide damaging information before the 2016 presidential election.
Mr Trump previously spent two days on his Turnberry course while in office in 2018, meeting Theresa May and the Queen during the visit.
Asked last week if she would meet Mr Trump, who has made controversial remarks about Muslims in the past, First Minister Humza Yousaf said: “I would find it difficult, I would say, to meet him without raising the of my concerns. have statements he has made in the past.”
Mr Trump’s last visit to the UK was in 2019 when he was US president and he made a state visit to the UK with his wife Melania.
