Trump’s co-accused Jessica Leeds recounted her experience of allegedly assaulting Donald Trump on a flight in the late 1970s in a civil rape trial prompted by a lawsuit by writer E Jean Carroll.

Ms Carroll sued Mr Trump for battery and defamation after he allegedly groped her in a dressing room at the Bergdorf Goodman department store in the 1990s. Ms Carroll concluded her role on the stand on Monday afternoon after three days of emotional testimony.

Meanwhile, Mr Trumps lawyer said the former president would not testify at the trial.

Ms Leeds took the stand on Tuesday.

I was invited up to the first-class cabin. I was the only girl there. Donald Trump introduced himself, Ms Leeds said, then added that he grabbed me and groped me. He looks like he has forty zillion hands. He raised his hand up my skirt. That gave me a thrill. I shook my head and returned to the coach.

Leaving court following her testimony on Tuesday, Jessica Leeds told The Independent: I’m tired, most of all and I hope I don’t have to tell my story again.

A Florida ethics board has dismissed a complaint filed by allies of former President Donald Trump against rival Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who found no legal basis for allegations that the governor violated campaign finance laws with a shadow run for the White House.

The Florida Commission on Ethics dismissed the complaint in an order filed last week.

The Trump-supporting super PAC MAGA Inc. filed a complaint against DeSantis in March and asked the commission to investigate the governor for allegedly using his office to boost his national profile.

The ethics panel, appointed by DeSantis and the leaders of the state House and Senate, both allies of the governor, found no legal basis for the allegations in the complaints.

Reagan announced his re-election bid on Jan. 29, 1984. His approval rating was 52% that month. Despite concerns about his age he was 73 years old and the oldest president in history at the time Reagan easily defeated Walter Mondale, a Democrat.

Ms Birnbach said she thought the book Ms Carroll was writing in 2017 was a travelogue.

He added that he learned it included Ms Carrolls thoughts on her life when Ms Carroll sent the excerpt that included Mr Trump’s alleged rape in 2019, according to Law & Crime.

Ms Birnbach said Ms Carroll told her she would be contacted by fact-checkers from the magazine that published the excerpt.

He added that Ms Carrolls book said she called a friend after the incident, but did not mention Ms Birnbach by name. Ms Birnbach recalled telling Ms Carroll that she was brave and the piece was beautiful.

Ms Birnbach said she asked to be left out of the book to avoid angering Trump supporters.

He added that he agreed to be named by The New York Times because he thought Ms Carrolls version of events would be stronger if she agreed to be identified.

Ms Birnbach said she had received some pretty horrible, antisemitic messages on Twitter from Mr Trump’s supporters.

I was a little uncomfortable with the book, and I didn’t tell him, she said.

He noted that there was a stark contrast between Ms Carrolls hair-raising experiences and the breezy writing style.
