Melania Trump Supports Donald (But Keeps Her Distance)

Ivanka Trump and Melania Trump have never been close. Melanias former best friend, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, said they called her stepdaughter Princess behind her back and launched Operation Block Ivanka to keep her out of inauguration photos. But Melania and Ivanka seem to be sharing a PR strategy for dealing with Donald Trump as he faces mounting legal trouble. Both women are distancing themselves from the former president and letting anonymous tabloid sources insist that he does indeed have his full support.

Ivanka pioneered this strategy when her father was arrested and charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records in New York over hush-hush payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. Ivanka released a stunningly ambiguous statement expressing love and sadness for her father and his country, after which she was never seen with her father in public. Following her notable absence from the speech after Trump’s arrest, the New York Posts Page Six reported that Ivanka actually showed support for her father by swinging by Mar-a-Lago some days ago but, strangely, no one had seen him. there.

While Melania has been seen dining with her husband at Mar-a-Lago at least twice since news of his indictment broke, she wasn’t by his side when he went to New York to surrender to authorities, and he also skipped his speech after his arraignment.

But Melania kind of resurfaced this week in a web-only interview with Fox News Digital. The piece featured no accompanying photos or video footage and appeared just hours before a jury found Donald liable for sexual assault and defamation against E. Jean Carroll.

The former First Lady offered this apparently scripted statement: My husband achieved tremendous success in his first administration, and he can once again lead us to greatness and prosperity.

He went on to confirm that Donald had managed to convince his own wife to support his 2024 bid.

He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength, he said.

Although Donald praised Melania at the Truth Social in recent days for her continued work on the Be Best initiative (weeks after failing to publicly acknowledge her birthday), things seem a bit frosty between the Trumps .

But now the Post is reporting that Melania is definitely not estranged from her husband. In fact, sources tell Page Six that they’re closer than ever and things couldn’t be better:

A source told Page Six that Trump really shines next to Melania. Mar-a-Lago was clearly overflowing with the couple seeming more bonded than ever. Friends say the Melanias are moving up while Ivanka and Jared are [Kushner] step aside is done [Trump] more confident than ever. Trump said Melania was by his side during the campaign more than last time, the source told us.
