The End for Donald Trump Has Come

[ad_1]

This verdict is a shame. A continuation of the greatest witch hunt of all time! Former President Donald Trump yelled in an angry and defensive tone in two videos posted on his Truth Social account.

He responded to the Manhattan jury’s determination that Trump was liable for defamation and battery (sexual assault) of New York journalist, E. Jean Carroll. The accusations stem from an alleged incident that took place between Trump and Carroll in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in Manhattan in the 1990s.

Carroll accused Trump of raping her. Trump has long denied the accusations. A jury of his peers agreed that he did not rape Carroll. But they did not exonerate him.

This decision comes on the heels of a grand jury investigation by George Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Braggs into allegations that Trump paid hush money to pornographic actress, Stormy Daniels, to enter in the 2016 Presidential Election. Trump was indicted for that accusation. His next trial date in Manhattan is set for early December.

This, as Trump’s uneven re-election campaign continues.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has more legal problems facing him. In fact, the first two were the least serious of the charges brought against him. The next two could cost Trump dearly, not just electorally but on a personal level as well.

There is a grand jury investigation in Atlanta into whether Trump attempted to steal the 2020 Georgia election. In Washington, DC, there is another grand jury investigation into claims that Trump improperly handled classified documents.

Trumps Growing Legal Concerns

Personally, I think the Georgia case is more serious because there is a rather damaging recording of the former president talking to the Republican governor of Georgia asking him to find 11,780 more votes for Trump than if what exists.

However, Trump’s former attorney general, Bill Barr (who recently fell out of favor with the forty-fifth president), believes that the case of classified documents in Washington, DC is more serious.

According to Barr, the special counsel leading the administration’s investigation into the matter could indict Trump as early as this summer. Like the Georgia recount case and the E. Jean Carroll case, Barr thinks that Trumps public comments at the chaotic CNN townhall he participated in will be the reason the classified documents case is taken seriously in Washington, DC.

Time and time again, Donald Trump has proven that he is his own worst enemy. This is really sad to see, as the GOP seems focused on promoting him as the likely presidential nominee in 2024 at the expense of more qualified and disciplined candidates, especially Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Regardless of DeSantis’ shortcomings, he has never caused as much public self-harm in his career or personal life as Trump has over the years.

Trump is desperate to link all of his current legal troubles to the previous unfair, politically charged witch hunt that continued his presidency. To be fair to the former president, the Stormy Daniels case is a nothingburger and an example of prosecutorial overreach.

In all likelihood the zombie case is another example of Trump’s ongoing war waged by various political enemies against the forty-fifth president in a desperate effort to undermine his bid for power.

Jean Carrolls Civil Case

Furthermore, the case of E. Jean Carroll is a slight overreach. After all, the statute of limitations would have expired if not for a little legal legerdemain done by New York where they extended the statute of limitations for sexual assault cases.

And, given Trump’s extreme unpopularity in New York, no jury in the Big Apple is likely to let Trump walk, no matter how flimsy the case against forty-five presidents.

However, the jury did not find Trump guilty of rape. He was instead found guilty of a lesser charge of battery. As for the defamation claim, Trump made bad statements about Carroll in public and couldn’t prove it.

So, he is responsible (remember this is the guy who, in 2016, wanted to lower the standards for libelous speech so he could sue everyone who said bad things about him. So, he was raised by his own petard here. case).

The fact of the matter is that, in the Carroll case, the jury was fairer than what Trump should expect in the next round of juries. In the previous two cases listed above, the evidence against Trump was paper thin.

It’s All Downhill From Here

With two upcoming lawsuits involving classified documents and his incriminating record calling for thousands of additional votes to be found in Georgia in 2020, the evidence against him is even stronger.

Therefore, Trump is likely to face at least one more indictment in the coming months.

With each indictment, Trump gets stronger in the GOP Primary. After the proven Russia hoax perpetrated by a political US intelligence community during Trump’s first term in office, Republican voters overwhelmingly assumed that every case against Trump was, in fact, part of the great that shooting.

If only.

Donald Trump Can’t Be Nominated Again

Regardless of the motivations behind Trump’s accusers, the former president has made himself susceptible to these charges. And these cases, while they serve his political prospects in the GOP Primary, they hurt his chances in the General (if Ron DeSantis doesn’t knock off Trump in the primary, that is).

Trump could not have won the General Election without the support of independent voters, most of whom hated the forty-fifth president. If Trump goes into the General Election against Joe Biden with three or four indictments, all hell will break loose.

This is the sad reality the GOP faces if it nominates Trump this election cycle.
