Giuliani Talks About Selling $2 Million Pardons And Splitting Proceeds With Trump, Accuser Claims

A woman suing Rudy Giuliani says the former New York City mayor talked about selling a presidential pardon for $2 million and splitting the money with Donald Trump. The accuser, Noelle Dunphy, claims as part of a lawsuit that Giuliani hired her, forced her into sexual activities, failed to pay her salary and then fired her, reports Dan Alexander .

He told Ms. Dunphy that he can refer individuals seeking pardons to him, as long as they don’t go through the normal channels of the Office of the Pardon Attorney, the complaint says, because letters going to that office will be subject to on disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. A Trump representative, Natalie Harp, reacted with a two-word statement: FAKE NEWS! Giuliani responded to the lawsuit with accusations of his own. Mayor Rudy Giuliani unequivocally denied the allegations Ms. Dunphy, and every news outlet covering this story should include the fact that a former partner accused her of being an escort who seduced wealthy men, said Ted Goodman, a Giuliani adviser.

In early April, Bud Light drew the ire of conservatives after Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender social-media influencer, posted on Instagram that he had a partnership deal with the brand.

Three weeks later, the parent company of the PAC for Bud Lights, Anheuser-Busch, made $20,000 in political donations, all to Republican members of Congress who appeared to have avoided the brouhaha.*

That lopsidedness seems out of character for the PAC. In 2021 and 2022, 48% of its contributions to federal candidates went to Democrats, according to OpenSecrets.

All five senators and two representatives received campaign contributions from Anheuser-Busch. The totals ranged from $8,000 to $55,000, with five of the seven receiving $20,000 or more.

Senators Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is among the most prominent Bud Light haters on Capitol Hill.

Anheuser-Busch’s PAC has donated to two of those lawmakers in the past. In 2018, before Cruz swore off taking campaign donations from corporate PACs, the beverage maker gave his campaign $5,000. Blackburn took $2,000 in 2004. The beer giant never gave Greene the money.

Spokesmen for Blackburn, Greene and Anheuser-Busch did not immediately respond to inquiries.

* Searches for legislator names and Bud Light on Google and Lexis Nexis returned no results. Similarly, none of their official Twitter accounts mention the brand.

Sen. Tim Scott (R.S.C.) filed papers with the Federal Election Commission on Friday to run for president in 2024, ending months of speculation about whether he would enter what is shaping up to be a crowded field. for the GOP nomination, reports Sara Dorn.

Scott is widely expected to enter the race after launching an exploratory committee in April, along with a cross-country listening tour. Scott, the only Black Republican in the Senate, also launched a $6 million ad campaign Friday and is expected to formally announce his candidacy Monday in Charleston. In addition to former President Donald Trump, Scott included former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and conservative talk show host Larry Elder in the race for the 2024 GOP nomination.
