Robert De Niro plays William Hale in ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’

Actor Robert De Niro spoke to former US president Donald Trump, who called him an idiot at the Cannes press conference for Killers of the Flower Moon.

While expressing his views on the evil character (William Hale) that he plays in the film, De Niro said that he does not fully understand the character, I do not fully understand my character,

The veteran actor then pointed at the former president and joked, That man’s an idiot. Think if you are smart. Even Hale is smart in many ways.

He further expressed his amazement saying, There are still people who think he can do well. Think how crazy that is.

Killers of the Flower Moon revolves around the events that took place in the early 1920s. When heavy oil reserves were discovered in the lands of the Osage nations, several killings followed. The film also describes how the newly established FBI investigated those murders.
