GOP Strategist Reversed Donald Trump’s Chris Christie’s Vow on Him

GOP strategist Mike Murphy predicted that former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) will be the popcorn candidate if he decides to run for president against his old friend Donald Trump in 2024.

He lights a stick of dynamite and runs right into Donald Trump. It’s going to be entertaining, Murphy said of Christie to MSNBC’s Alex Wagner on Friday in a video shared online by Mediaite.

Voters don’t necessarily dig the man, Murphy said of Christie, who has indicated hell will decide whether to run next month.

But catalytically, to affect the process, he can be very strong, added the strategist, a former adviser to Sen. Mitt Romney (Utah) and the late Sen. John McCain (Ariz.).

Wagner pointed to Christies claim that he was not a paid assassin whose job it was to attack GOP front-runner Trump while other Republican contenders stood back to avoid Trumps offensive base.

I agree, he’s not a contract killer, Murphy responded.

Then comes the zinger: Hell do it for free and for fun.

Wagner laughed at the comment.

Christie endorsed Trump after dropping out of his own campaign in 2016, but has since become a fierce critic of the former president.
