Donald R. Fisher, 78, passed away April 4, 2023, in Mesa, Az after a short battle with cancer. Don was born in Davenport, Iowa, June 22, 1944, to Archie and Lucrechia (Patton) Fisher. He is a graduate of Maryville, Mo. HS in 1962. On February 6, 1965, he married Mary V. Miller while serving four years in the USAF. After discharge he earned a BA from the University of Missouri in 1970 and in 1975 received an MBA from the University of Arkansas.
His career was in information systems focused on inventory management for several companies throughout the Midwest.
In college he discovered golf which became his life’s passion. So upon retiring from Trane/American Standard in Texas it was a natural choice to move to HSV where he was active in the MGA and various golf groups. He also belongs to the Village Roadrunners RV Club as well as the Breakfast Lions.
She is survived by her husband as well as a brother, Richard Fisher, Scottsdale, Az; sister, Sally Pederson, Savannah, Mo.; son, Robert Fisher, Port St. Lucie, Fla.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Don on June 9 at 1:30 in Rooms 1&2 of the Coronado Community Center with Rev. Robert and Athena Fisher giving a memorial. An invitation to attend is extended to all who wish to remember and celebrate the Don.
