Donald Ray Sexton, age 76, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA.

Don was born in Marion, VA on February 16, 1947. He worked for many years as a truck driver, at Brunswick in Marion, and most recently with the Richardson Ambulance Service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Ray Sexton and Laura Marie Sexton Myers, and a lifelong friend, Roger West.

Don is survived by his loving wife Rebecca Sexton; two sons Jerry Sexton and wife Linda and Joseph Sexton; brother Tom Myers and wife Jackie; grandchildren Samantha Sexton, Alicia Sexton, Cassidy Sexton, Grayson Jackson, and Ben Sexton; great-grandchildren Colton Davenport, Amberlynn Smith, and Lexie, Eli, and Elliemae Sexton; son Brandon Tarter; father and mother-in-law Jimmy & Brenda Linkous; nieces Tori Myers and Jessica Elswick; and many friends to include a special friend Dewey Mathena and Robin Richardson.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00PM, Thursday, June 8, 2023, from Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Pastor Jacob Vanover and Pastor Dennis Eller officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held Friday morning at McClure Cemetery in Chilhowie.
