Obituary for Donald Dean Adams

Donald “Don” Dean Adams, age 78, of Nevada, MO passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Moore-Few Care Center.

Don was born on April 5, 1945, in Nevada, MO to Clarence Kermit and Viola (Mahan) Adams. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1963 and served his country in the United States Army. On April 8, 1972, he married Terri Mathis, and she survives at home. Don was a businessman all his life, including real estate, car sales, and running the Nevada American Legion. His interests include cars and bars. He is a member of the Potawatomi Indian Nation.

Survivors include his wife, Terri; one daughter Carrie Adams, Nevada, MO; brothers, Leroy Adams, Liberty, MO and Joe Adams, Maryville, TN; sisters, Dianne Richardson, Lebanon, MO, Barbara Pierce, Tucson, AZ, Viola Wilson, Las Cruces, NM and Sharon Schaefer, Glen Carbon, IL; two grandsons, Keller Dean Adams and Gavin Reid Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hurb Adams.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, June 9, 2023, at Ferry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fort Scott National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.

Memorials may be made to the Nevada American Legion with the funeral home serving as custodian.
