In Oakland County appearance, Trump drops indictments, bashes “Marxist Left”

Former President and current 2024 Republican frontrunner Donald Trump was the keynote speaker at an Oakland County GOP event Sunday night, where he received a Man of the Decade award in front of a supportive crowd.

Trump has cast the upcoming presidential election in decidedly apocalyptic terms. He told supporters that this would be the most important battle of our lifetime, and vowed to free the country from what he called villains.

Trump has dismissed his recent indictments for allegedly mishandling classified documents, and using campaign funds to pay an adult movie star. He accused the Marxist left of weaponizing the justice system to prevent his re-election.

Whenever the radical leaves the Democrats, Marxists, Communists and Fascists, I consider it a great badge of honor and a badge of courage, said Trump, who said he did nothing wrong and pleaded not guilty to everything.

Trump has said that if elected, he would immediately sign executive orders targeting undocumented immigrants and their American-born children. He also promised to restrict what public schools can teach about racism and LGBTQ issues.

Trump also called President Joe Biden corrupt, boasted about his poll numbers, and said that if re-elected he could easily solve some of the world’s toughest conflicts.

Before I even got to the Oval Office shortly after I won the presidency, I was going to settle the war between Russia and Ukraine, he declared. I will do it within 24 hours. It’s not hard to do.

Trump also took aim at what he called Bidens ridiculous crusade to support electric cars, suggesting that the shift to EVs would destroy the US auto industry.

Trump is hoping to repeat his 2016 victory in Michigan by the slimmest of margins. Biden carried the state in 2020. Trump did not win Oakland County, once staunch Republican territory, in either contest.
