This Is The Best Thing About Disney’s New Donald Duck Restaurant

We’ve been to MANY new Disney restaurants over the years.

Opening a new dining spot is one of the most exciting things for a Disney fan! Brand new theming and ambiance AND new dining?! It really can be a dream come true. We’ve seen a few restaurants that have opened recently and MORE are announced for the future, but for now we KNOW to talk about a new restaurant that you might want to visit soon (although getting there can be a bit complicated ).

Earlier this year (in January), the Shanghai Disney Resort opened a NEW place called Donald’s Dine ‘n Delights in Disneytown. Yes, that’s right folks, it’s an entire restaurant dedicated to the #1 Donald Duck!

We shared some news about this place when it first opened, but today we’re taking you on a deeper dive into the details. Be careful — by the end of it, you’ll find yourself booking a flight to Shanghai Disney Resort in no time.

Theme and Decoration

Let’s start with what might be THE best thing about the restaurant — the theme and decor!

Outside, you’ll find an adorable statue of Donald Duck in his best chef’s hat holding some cooking utensils — look, Donald!

The sign for the restaurant is also great, sporting Donald’s signature blue as well as a hidden Mickey, and little figures of Chip ‘n’ Dale holding snacks — so much fun!

The decor of this whole place is really inspired by our favorite duck, but it seems he can’t leave some of his best friends behind!

The inside!

Inside, you’ll find beautiful murals on the vaulted ceiling. Look closely and you’ll see Goofy holding loads of ice cream, Pluto eating pizza, some of Donald’s nephews…

…and Daisy and Donald floating around.

There are 2 murals in the space so you’ll want to keep looking for more details.

Donald seems to really like cooking!

And many of his friends were in the fun.

Look at Goofy with all those pancakes!

But wait…there’s more. There are some incredible retro-style stained glass artworks depicting Donald, and some of his friends like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Daisy, Chip, Dale, and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie.

This table service spot is the first Disney-themed restaurant in Disneytown.

Disney describes it as a great place to celebrate a child’s birthday, have afternoon tea with friends, or stop by for evening cocktails. A little Disney charm for all ages! Looks like the celebrations are a big deal here as a video from Disney depicts a sign being held as part of the festivities…

…and a cute cake too!

Even the Cast Members get in on the action as they wear French street-style outfits in Donald Duck’s iconic colors.

While the decor may be a big draw, the food is something you GOT to see!

This dining spot is a bistro featuring Western cuisine with an Asian-inspired touch. You can find things like specialty pizza, milkshakes…

…and ice cream sundaes on the menu.

Just look at how colorful that drink is!

Each of the menu items seems to have some special unique touches! The milkshakes are topped with art of Donald and friends, and the steak has a pat of Donald Duck-shaped herb butter on top.

Dare I say it, but that might be cooler than Mickey butter!

The pizzas look really delicious and they are made by the in-house pizza chef.

Several Cast Members who visited the restaurant raved about the Seafood Pizza. Tony Zhang, guest services manager at the main entrance also shared, “The attention to detail made even the dishes and dishes and dishes even more memorable!

Some things you can order from the menu include Yunnan Truffle Pizza, Steak Caf de Paris, Donald Duck Fishing Plate with Chip n Dale Onion Rings, and Donald Ducks Vanilla Shake.

Look at the plate they serve with onion rings! It even comes with little egg-shaped sauce holders!

The menu also seems to include a few more vegetable-focused offerings.
