Donald Vance Lasley, 84, died Wednesday June 9, 2021, at Soddy Daisy Health Care Center.

He was a retired pastor who heard the call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ at age 16. He received training at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In the course of his ministry, he appreciated churches across the country, but always returned to Soddy Daisy where he was born and raised. Most famous man, he was pastor of Oak St. Baptist Church in Soddy for 18 years. He was a member of Rechoboth Baptist Church.

Don was preceded in death by his second wife, Irene, his first wife, Ilene, his parents, Martin and Pearl, and siblings Vivian Lasley, Antoinette Wilson, and Betty Lasley.

He is survived by his sons, Marty, Paul, and Barry, sister, Barbara Hutchins, brother, Gene, and grandchildren, Noah, Jonah, Ruth, Caleb, Sarah, and Zach.

The funeral ceremony will be held Monday, June 14, at 11 am, at Rechoboth Baptist Church, 12622 Dayton Pike, Soddy Daisy, Tn. Alan Stewart and Darrell Winters will deliver.

The visitation will take place on Sunday, June 13, from 4-8 p.m., at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy Daisy, Tn., And before the 10-11 a.m. service at the church.
