Donald Ray Ile, age 78, of Albion, Illinois entered the gates of heaven on Thursday, June 10, 2021 following a brief battle with cancer.

Don was born in Albion on July 25, 1942 to Corwin and Ada (Plumley) Ile. Don married Ruth Hedrick and she lived. Don is a retired Illinois State Police officer, a member of Albion’s First Baptist Church, an avid lumberjack, member of the Timang Baptist Disaster Relief Team and a member of Gidons.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Ruth, three children Karen (Tony) Christensen, Kathy Clyde and Donna (Breck) Gould., 2 grandchildren, three step granddaughter, 1 step great granddaughter sister of Utah, 1 brother, Kenneth (Rose) Ile and 1 sister, Berniece Stennett and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Robert & Eldon and sister, Helen Logsdon, 2 grandchildren, Andrea Clyde and Nathan Clyde.

Funeral services for Donald Ray Ile will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Albion. The funeral service will also be livestreamed. Burial will follow at Samaria Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held Tuesday night, 5 to 7 pm at the church. Memorials can be made to the Greater Wabash Disaster Relief Association or the Gideons.
