Donald Trump Jr. and other ardent Trump supporters have been teased on social media because the former president wished a happy birthday on platforms he had no access to.
Happy Birthday President Trump #HappyBirthday, Mr. Trump’s eldest wrote on Twitter on Monday in conjunction with a photo of him embracing an American flag.
Controversial lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene also posted a birthday message for the president, writing: Youll will always be our president!
Twitter users were quick to ridicule Mr. Trump Jr., pointing out that his father could not see his intended message because he no longer had an account on the platform.
I know he blocked you on WhatsApp but you realize he can’t see it here either ?, someone said.
Another Trump critic shared their own unique celebration of the day with a cake in commemoration of Mr. Trump’s ban from the platform.
Too bad he couldn’t read it, someone wrote under Ms Taylor Greenes ’message, while another posted: You know he can’t see your tweet, right? Call him.
Others questioned using the formal nature of the eldest children’s birthday message, with a joke: Did he call you your father Trump?
Others suggested that the photo Mr. Trump chose to go along with his recognition was a strange choice, with another noted: What a strange photo to use.
The former president was banned from the platform following the Jan. 6 uprising, in which Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overthrow the U.S. election.
Twitter said it had permanently suspended the account because of the risk of further incitement to violence.
Subsequent efforts from the former president to avoid his blocked account or create a new platform on which to contact his followers have now died in the water.
Mr. Trump was born on June 14, 1946 and Monday marked his 75th birthday.
Anti-Trump conservative political action committee The Lincoln Project also hit Mr. Trump in a video criticizing his handling of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The video shows a birthday cake with candles slowly burning overlapping audio clips of what the pandemic presidents said.
