Will former President Donald Trump be part of the upcoming Idaho Gubernatorial Primary? We lobbied the former president when he was president to visit our great state. Four years ago, a visit or a tweet could have swapped the main competition between Brad Little, Raul Labrador, and Tommy Ahlquist with someone other than the ending Little.
The New York Times produced a thorough story of how people in Washington prevented President Trump from endorsing Congressman Labrador. The report detailed a Labrador gathering criticizing the president during the presidential premiere. Here is a detailed report on how concerned Idaho Political Operatives is about the president’s influence in Idaho:
The relative with no political experience also left him open to manipulating aides and allies with agendas of their own. When a group of White House lawmakers and aides lobbied Mr. Trump to endorse Rep. Raul Labrador, a hard-liner running for governor in Idaho, supporters of a competing candidate , Lt. Governor Brad Little, was quick to act. They put together Mr. Labrador’s shot criticizing Mr. Trump primarily in 2016, when he supported Senator Ted Cruz, and directed it to the West Wing.
Endorsement is off. A day after Idaho basics, Mr. Trump called the success Mr. Little and, unaware of the genesis of the tape, asked: “Did you see that video?”
Now that the former president is free to travel, will he endorse a Gem State candidate? Did you know that each of the three major declared candidates has connections to President Donald Trump. Let’s see who has the best relationship that can lead to an endorsement and possible success because of that endorsement.

Governor Brad Little may not be such a front runner for a possible endorsement, but he made significant contact with the Trump White House during the Covid Crisis. The governor spoke at the White House while being praised for his presidential leadership. Can we see Mike Pence endorsing Little? The governor was very close to the vice president in their weekly call. Pence’s endorsement would be a compelling argument for a Little election.

Lieutenant Governor Janice McGeachin was a Trump Delegate at the GOP Convention in 2016. She continues to be compared to him in his four -year term. His recent appearance on Fox News caught President Trump’s attention. An endorsement for him would remove any advantage of money, incumbent, or name recognition. Does he have political connections to make that happen?

Ed Humphrey is the youngest candidate running to be the Republican nominee for governor. Although we don’t know if he is connected to any member or team of President Trump, he has a very influential Conservative Allie. Mr. Humphreys works with the young Conservative Group, Turning Point USA, led by Charlie Kirk. Mr. Kirk is very close to the Trump family. Can he be a conduit for meaningful endorsement? Will he endorse Ed for Idaho?
Regardless of whether he endorses anyone in Idaho, we would welcome the president to visit our great state.
