JJ Watt is one of the best to do it, as evidenced by his three Defensive Player of the Year awards and five first-team All-Pro nods, but he hasn’t been the Madden man yet. And while I’m excited to see what he adds to the Cardinals, JJ’s cover-guy days will appear behind him. Not the case with TJ, who only hits his prime at age 26, who led the NFL with 15 sacks last season. It would have been great for the Watt family if TJ had gone to one of the few individual awards JJ avoided.
Last season was no silence, either. TJ’s sacking in his first three NFL campaigns: 7, 13, 14.5. See a developing trend? The younger Watt is a star in a hurry, improving with each passing year. Needless to say, he’s playing for an iconic franchise, with an amazing and avid fan base. This would be a very good choice, no doubt about it.
