Harrington said in a statement Tuesday that it was the honor of his life to represent Trump “and stand up for the truth.” But he was repetitive and untrue about what happened in the election where Trump was defeated by Joe Biden-repeatedly declaring that Trump was the legitimate winner and the election was stolen from him. On the day of the Capitol uprising in January, Harrington falsely said the election was stolen by “communists.” And less than a week after the uprising, he falsely said that “the real uprising” took place in the “voting of votes” the morning after Election Day.
Asked for comment for this article, Harrington responded Wednesday by denouncing CNN and re -arguing that the election was marred by “many anomalies.”
Nonsense in November
Harrington made several false claims about the election while working for the RNC in November.
“President Trump won this election,” Harrington wrongly said in a television interview in California on Nov. 8 – a day after television networks reported Biden had won. In the same interview, Harrington had no basis to assert that Biden could not have earned 81 million “real votes” because he had a small majority in his campaign events. (The size of a candidate’s crowd doesn’t necessarily predict their total vote even if a pandemic doesn’t occur, and Biden’s campaign team minimized his events for the purpose of social isolation.) And there is no basis for Harrington to suggest that Biden dubiously won the states where Trump had early leaders in total public voting, even though Trump had only false hints because many of the votes had not yet been counted . Harrington was more accurate in a radio interview in Texas on Nov. 11, this time declaring that counting every “legal vote” would show that Trump not only won the election but won “a landslide. ” He also said there was evidence of “systematic” fraud, even though it was not true then and is not true now. Harrington’s Twitter posts are no more true than his comments out loud. On Nov. 10, Harrington posted a series of tweets in which he made a nonsensical argument that Biden was getting more votes in some strictly democratic urban provinces than Hillary Clinton did in 2016 also suggests fraud. The increased voter turnout is, obviously, not evidence that something bad has happened – and the turnout is around the country, not just in the Democratic strongholds. Harrington once made the indisputable argument that state election officials made unconstitutional pandemic changes during their policies; in his statement Wednesday on CNN, he reiterated his reasoning that secretaries of state acted unconstitutionally. But from November onwards, many of his stances about what happened in the particular areas that Trump lost were not really true. He wrongly said, among other things, that Georgia counted thousands of votes from minor voters and that Philadelphia blocked observers at the Trump poll to “fill the ballot box. ”
More lies in 2021
Harrington, like Trump, did not stop lying about the election even after the Electoral College confirmed Biden’s victory and the Supreme Court rejected a challenge seeking to overturn the result. On Dec. 24, after both of those developments, he simply and incorrectly tweeted: “TRUMP WON.” On Jan. 3, after he left his job at the RNC in December, Harrington tweeted that “fraud is BAD” and favored citing Trump’s false allegations about an election worker allegedly filling ballot boxes. in Georgia. On Jan. 6, both before and after the Capitol uprising, Harrington issued his warnings against allowing “communists” to “steal” the election. In an interview with Newsmax that night, he falsely said that Pennsylvania had 200,000 more votes than actual voters, even though that statement, which came from Republican lawmakers misinterpreting official data , has been debunked by the state. A day after the insurrection, Harrington told Newsmax that “equal justice under the law” means people should be prosecuted not only “if you attack the Capitol and destroy properties” but ” if you destroy the votes that were legally cast for our president ”- even though there is no evidence that the legal votes for Trump were destroyed. And on Jan. 12, Harrington went to Newsmax again and said that “the real uprising” happened in the early hours of the morning one day after Election Day, when he said “vote dumps” had occurred.
“That’s where it happened. That’s the overthrow,” she said.
So -called “vote dumps” are, simply, large quantities of newly counted votes added to the public as a whole.
On the day of Biden’s inauguration, Harrington went back to Newsmax and said, “There’s no way he got 81 million votes. It’s fraud.” He called Biden “an illegitimate man, a fake candidate.” Harrington worked for the media operation “War Room” of the former Trump official who left the RNC. He showed no sign of changing his tone after the job change, which goes into the spring to call the election stolen.
