Obituary by Donald L. DeCaire
Donald “Don” DeCaire, former Grand Blanc Michigan, was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who passed from this world Friday, June 11, 2021 at age 82 in hospice in Longmont, Colorado. Don met his wife, Kay, on a blind date arranged by mutual friends. They had a child together, Lisa. Always for an experience, Don and Kay moved to Colorado a few years ago to be closer to their only grandchild. Until finally, Don’s face lit up with the biggest smile when Keller entered the room. He is proud to be a Grandfather. Don served our country for two years in the Army. Appreciating education, he went on to graduate from Northern Michigan University. He worked at General Motors in Flint and retired after 37 years. For many years Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was heavily involved in volunteer roles at Holy Family Parish in Grand Blanc. She loves walking and swimming for exercise and recreation. Don is a natural and curious talker. He was always ready with a “how are you” or a “take care.” A memorial service will take place at a future date. The family asks those wishing to express condolences to consider making a donation to TRU Community Care Hospice Center (trucare.org) in the name of Donald DeCaire.
