The ads are linked to the fundraising page of Trumps Save America, operated by Republican digital ad firm WinRed.
The amount of money behind the ads is incredibly small as these expenditures go. But the use of the platform is remarkable: Trump is raising funds on a massive social network that he still considers persona non grata.
Earlier this month Facebook announced that it would suspend Trump from its platform for two years until January 2023 after which it will reconsider whether he should be reinstated. Trump was initially banned from the site for posts encouraging his supporters to riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Facebook did not return a request for comment.
The new ads also suggest Trumps aides recognize the use of the social media site in organizing and collecting money. The Trump campaign relies heavily on Facebook to drive small dollar donations in addition to Trump connecting with his supporters through messages shared on his page.
Expelled from the site, Trump handed over the social media company and its founder Mark Zuckerberg, and indicated that he would not return to Facebook even if allowed. Despite the ban, Trump still continues to have a massive reach due to Trump-friendly pages like Breitbart News and President Donald Trump Fan Club according to a New York Times study.
