Donald Scott is on his way to the Tokyo Olympics.
Ypsilanti Lincoln track and field coach and former Eastern Michigan athlete earned a spot on Team USA by finishing second in the triple jump on Monday.
Scott, who coaches sprints, jumps and relays for the Railsplitters, qualified for the Olympics with a 17.18-meter jump, just .3 meters behind William Claye.
Scott, a 3-time US Indoor champion and 2-time US Outdoor champion will next compete in his first Olympic games with Team USA, which is scheduled to begin in July.
The Apopka, Florida native was the 19th athlete to represent EMU at the Olympics.
